B Academics Teaching Roundtable

Our 2023 B Academics Teaching Roundtable will focus on a unique experiential learning model, B Impact Teams (BITs), where college/university students work with businesses to measure, manage and improve their impact using the B Impact Assessment (BIA). The Roundtable will provide an opportunity to learn more about BITs, including how to start one on your campus, contribute to a conversation about how to strengthen the BIT ecosystem and engage with a leading B Corp champion and author, Ryan Honeyman.

Who should attend? Students, staff,  faculty, B Corp representatives, aspiring B corps, community members, coaches and anyone interested in getting involved in the B Impact Teams ecosystem.

Format? The Roundtable format will be hybrid, with an opportunity to participate virtually or in person at select partner locations around the world.

B Impact Teams are self-organized teams of college/university students that assist businesses to measure and manage their impact. These student-led consulting teams serve their local community by assessing social and environmental metrics of community businesses using the B Impact Assessment (BIA). Schools around the world have formed B Impact Teams on their campuses to serve their local business community. Join us for a B Impact Teams Webinar which will provide participants with a roadmap of how develop, launch and run a successful B Impact Team on your campus. The first 15 webinar registrants will receive a free e-book copy of our keynote’s latest book, The Next Economy MBA: Redesigning Business for the Benefit of All.

Join us for an in-depth discussion, bringing together educators, students, alumni, B Corp representatives, community members and other stakeholders on how we can develop the tools, resources, networks and infrastructure to create an engaged global BIT ecosystem.

Facilitator: Kristin Joys, Chair of Teaching at B Academics and Social Entrepreneurship Lecturer and Director of the Social Impact and Sustainability Initiative at University of Florida, Warrington College of Business.

2:15PM-2:50PM EST – Keynote with Ryan Honeyman

Join us for a closing keynote conversation with Ryan Honeyman, a Partner / Worker-Owner at LIFT Economy, coauthor of The B Corp Handbook: How to Use Business as a Force for Good (Berrett-Koehler Publishers) and coauthor of The Next Economy MBA: Redesigning Business for the Benefit of All (Berrett-Koehler Publishers). Ryan has helped over 50 companies—like Patagonia, Allbirds, Ben & Jerry’s, King Arthur Flour, Tanka Bar, Animikii, and Red Bay Coffee—become Certified B Corporations, recertify as B Corporations, and maximize the value of their B Corp certification.

Ryan has written articles for the Stanford Social Innovation Review, Fast Company, Entrepreneur, Huffington Post, Utne Reader, and TriplePundit. He has been a featured speaker at SOCAP, Bioneers, Summit LA, the B Corp Champions Retreat, the Sustainable Enterprise Conference, the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Summit, the Stanford d.school, the Wharton School of Business, the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and many others.
