Letter from our B Academics President & Board Chair – Giving Tuesday

Explore this compelling letter from Summer Brown, President and Board Chair of B Academics, as she delves into our participations in Giving Tuesday 2023.

Hello B Academics Community,

On Tuesday November 28th, we will celebrate Giving Tuesday. It is a global day that encourages radical generosity and unites people through advocacy and generosity in support of their communities.

Giving Tuesday began in 2012 in New York City at the 92nd Street Y by its then Executive Director Henry Timms who co-founded the day along with the United Nations Foundation. In 2019 it became an independent nonprofit.

Here at B Academics, our story is very similar. Our humble beginnings in 2016 by three academicians, has now evolved into a global nonprofit whose mission is:

To advance the state of academic study into business as a force for good.

Since then we’ve gained nonprofit status and grown into a network of more than 2400 academics, students, and practitioners at 796 higher education institutions in 67 countries.

And, we hold quarterly events  that bring together like-minded organizations in higher education and business from all over the world.

I’m proud to announce that this year, B Academics has been awarded a GuideStar Gold certification administered by Candid, the nonprofit organization that provides the most comprehensive data and insights about the social sector. This GuideStar certification verifies our commitment to transparency as an organization.

As we continue to work toward further global expansion and supporting the next generation of college and university students to become the sustainable business leaders of tomorrow, we ask for your support to donate whatever amount is comfortable for you.

Or…why not join us as a Member and get access to all of our Member Benefits and Resources?

If you aren’t already, please stay connected with us on our LinkedIn, YouTube, and X pages.

Thank you,

Summer Brown
